* The scope of this article is very limited. In fact, it is very superficial. But we begin here. (Updated January 13 2026)
What Can Artificial Intelligence Do For Me and My Web Site?
Firstly – what is “intelligence”? In the context of managing and deriving data sets from on-line information, there are efforts (past, present, and future) to “scarf”, “slurp”, “suck”, and generally accumulate information that exists on all web sites, social channels, and other data platforms and resources, so that the amalgam of information can be pieced together to generate results that in the past were not possible or too time consuming to achieve practically.
For the layman (the author included), an immediate current example is doing a Google search and seeing the immediate results Google attributes to AI. Google presents the results of the search as “AI Overview”. These results supersede traditional organic results and other Google features – for now.
A person can also visit the AI platform ChatGPT or other similar environments (Google Gemini, Grok, Microsoft CoPilot, Meta AI etc), and ask questions or make requests for some action to derive a result. Such as; “What is the weather in Philadelphia today?”, “In 1,000 words, what is AI?”, “What is the optimum number of words to use for my web site blog article?”, and so on. There are few limitations to the types of questions it may answer.
AI – Potential Benefits for Content Creators
The results can be a big aid to the blogger or content creator. The time savings generating content, both written and sometimes, visually, can be huge. The results may not be perfect, and a manual review of the results, including manually editing, are encouraged. But for blogging and site content creation purposes – where you are using a broad brush to populate your canvas, then it can be a great tool. AI, in the context of using ChatGPT or similar service, can be a valuable copy writing tool – providing inspiration, immediate (yet qualified) research results, and content that can save time and costs.
Depending on the theme, template framework, or site plugin, AI is also embedded into some WordPress blogging functionality. You can generate content within the blog without leaving the site.
AI is also turning up in the Adobe suite of products. There can be benefits creatively, skill-wise, or inspirationally in generating imagery that essentially cuts a path to the end result – provided you know how to make use of the tools. In many instance, a user may find it easier and faster to use the original tools they mastered, then to try and find a short cut or dilute existing skills.
So Yes, in the context of generating or managing web content, AI can be a benefit to the web designer, the web developer, the programmer & coder, and the visual artist – but all within the context of what is acceptable in originality, content accuracy, and the team’s or individual’s skill sets.
Taking it further, AI can be utilized by the programmer / coder to create, derive, and test site coding.
In future articles, we will touch on how web site management and page ranking / SEO is being affected by AI and what a web site may do to address the effects of artificial intelligence.
